About One Thirty One Photo

Elizabeth Osterberger, owner of One Thirty One Photo and Elope to Savannah, was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. She moved to Savannah, Georgia in 1997 to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design where she earned her BFA in photography in 2001. An active photographer since then, with more than 13 years experience as a professional photographer, she feels she can offer what some others can't … a dedication and love for the craft that started in high school and continued on with a great education and training.

You might be wondering where the name of the company came from. In October of 2013, Elizabeth had open heart surgery to have her mitral valve replaced. While in the hospital, she had a lot of time to think and rebranding her business and life was one of the goals she came up with. Whenever a nurse or doctor entered the hospital room, she had to identify herself by saying her birthdate, which is January 31st, or one thirty-one. After saying this several times a day for 18 days, it became something new and special to her, because without saying it to the doctors and nurses, she would not have made it to see other one thirty-ones in the future. So now, everyday is like a birthday, because life is short.

And because life is short, what better way than to record your life's achievements, happy moments, sad moments and every day life but in photos.

She has a natural gift of making people at ease and taking careful consideration about the insecurities others may have and trying to make her clients feel special and valued.

Elizabeth loves spending time with her friends, cats, her wonderful husband Glen, and enjoying being outside in the hot Savannah weather. She also volunteers for Susan G. Komen Coastal Georgia Affiliate and some local LGBT rights groups.
